5 things that made me happy this week

Summer is officially here!! It’s been so warm and lovely this week, and I’ve been soaking up all the sunshine I can get!

1 – This week myself and hubby celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary. I can’t believe 3 years have gone by already, it’s gone so fast! In true ‘us’ style, we stayed in and ate dinner and snuggled up with a movie at home rather than go out to a posh restaurant. We did posh it up a little though by having duck a l’orange for dinner, which was delicious!

2 – We did a whole lot of exploring on Monday around the beautiful buildings and colleges of Oxford. I love this city and don’t know why I don’t spend more time there.

3 – I discovered ‘me in a shop’, in the form of a fine stationery store called ‘Scriptum’. Honestly, I could have lived in that shop. It is filled with all sorts of goodies, including quills, inkwells, globes, books, magnifying glasses, compasses, venetian masks, and loads more! I will definitely add a full post on this place later, as I’m just so excited to have discovered it!

4 – Exploring Christ Church College, including the great hall which was inspiration for the hall at Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movies! It is quite pricey to get in (£8 each), and I do feel that this is playing upon the media ties, but it was still pretty cool!

5 – Trying a large mochi ball at Wasabi. We have had little ones before at Yo Sushi, and were really surprised by the texture and the taste. They are basically rice balls with sweet flavouring, and are a Japanese dish. The texture reminds me a little of pizza dough before it’s cooked – it’s really soft and smooth. The flavours though are really delicate, so it’s not too heavy on your stomach.
